Digital Storytelling: Helping Nashville's Music Health Alliance Heal the Music

At CIV Digital, we love to throw the spotlight on the amazing work our clients are doing in the world. We celebrate Nashville's Music Health Alliance tireless efforts to make access to affordable healthcare possible to the uninsured men and women who make the music we all enjoy.




An estimated 75% of singers, songwriters, producers and musicians in the music industry are uninsured. Music Health Alliance (MHA) based in Nashville, Tennessee has secured millions of dollars in life-changing healthcare resources to heal the music since they launched in 2013. Since CiV Digital's partnership with Music Health Alliance began, MHA has now served 18,000 music industry professionals and their families, and secured over $85 million in healthcare cost reductions to Heal the Music.

Partnering to Heal the Music


Our task was to digitally communicate the Music Health Alliance story to a range of audiences including key players in the music industry as well as potential clients themselves.


Creating an Initial Digital Presence Focused on Raising Awareness & Offering Immediate Help


On a limited timetable, the CiV team worked with MHA to create a digital presence which translates the mission into a platform for engaging potential donors and clients. A crucial part of this initial phase of our work together was to create a visual design and user experience (UX) which reflected the organization’s emphasis on raising awareness and encouraging prospective clients to seek help. Built using WordPress and customized to meet MHA’s needs, the new site is easy for staff to update and maintain.






Since CiV Digital's partnership with Music Health Alliance began, MHA has now served 18,000 music industry professionals and their families, and secured over $85 million in healthcare cost reductions to Heal the Music.

Since launch of the Phase I website, CiV Digital has continued its' partnership with Music Health Alliance identifying opportunities to build on the foundation of innovative health services they compassionately provide to music professionals in the Nashville area and beyond.


Developing a Custom Animation Telling the MHA Story


The first was the development of a custom video animation explaining the need and how Music Health Alliance works to meet the often urgent demand for healthcare services. From storyboard to art direction, Ryan Scott and the CiV team provided end-to-end production services for the video below.



Creating Space for Stories of Impact


In addition, Music Health Alliance asked us to refresh the Phase I website. Specifically, we created space for stories which chronicle MHA’s impact and are expanding inbound marketing efforts to raise the visibility of the Alliance’s work to potential clients and donors alike. In addition, we created infographics on Music Health Alliance's impact and additional pathways for help their clients get the help they need.
