What we do with your information.

The short version

CiV (Capital Idea Ventures, Inc.) collects only the information you choose to send us through a form on this site. We use it to reply to you. We don't sell it, we don't share it for advertising, and this site runs no tracking or advertising cookies.

What we collect

When you fill out a contact or inquiry form, we receive what you type into it. Depending on the form, that's your name, email address, organization or company, and message, and on the Signal Check form, the category and competitors you tell us about. We don't ask for anything else, and we don't collect it in the background.

We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, session recording, or marketing cookies. Because of that, this site does not show a cookie consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

This site does load fonts from Google Fonts and Fontshare. To serve those fonts, your browser contacts those services, which means they receive your IP address. We don't control what they do with it; their own privacy terms apply. We use them only to display the site's typefaces, not to track you.

Why we collect it

To read your message and respond to it, and to carry on whatever conversation follows. We use your information only for the purpose you contacted us about.

Who sees it

Your submission is delivered to us through CloudCannon, the service that hosts this site and handles its forms. CloudCannon processes the submission and passes the message to our inbox. We treat what you send as confidential. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't share it with third parties except where we need a service provider to deliver it to us or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry messages for as long as we're in contact and for a reasonable period afterward, in case the conversation picks back up. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Your choices and rights

Whatever region you're in, you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or a US state with its own privacy law (such as California), those laws give you those rights explicitly, along with the right to object to how we use your information and to withdraw consent. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

To make any of these requests, email us at the address below. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and we won't charge you or treat you differently for asking.

Children

This site and our services are meant for a professional audience and are not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. For anything material, the change takes effect when we post it.
